Who Is Suchana Seth? Bengaluru CEO Arrested For Killing 4-Year-Old Son

A 39-year-old Bengaluru start-up founder allegedly murdered her four-year-old son in Goa and travelled to Karnataka with his body before she was caught. Suchana Seth is the founder and CEO of The Mindful AI Lab, an artificial intelligence startup based in Bengaluru that focuses on advancements in artificial intelligence. Seth has been working in the field of AI ethics and has over 12 years of experience in the field. 

Karnataka's Chitradurga on Monday with her son's body in a bag. She allegedly killed her young son in an apartment in north Goa's Candolim. The shocking and concerning case questions the motives behind what prompted her to make such an unsettling decision.

Seth had checked into a luxury apartment in North Goa's Candolim on Saturday and checked out on Monday morning. She was caught on Monday night trying to flee in a cab with the child's body stuffed in a bag in Karnataka's Chitradurg in what seemed like a fleeing attempt. 



The motive behind the murder and how she killed the deceased is yet unknown but investigators through their initial probe cited the reason to be her "estranged relationship" with her husband. 

Who Is Suchana Seth?

Bengaluru-based CEO and founder of The Mindful AI Labs, a startup established by Seth four years ago in 2020 focuses on advancements in evolving Artificial Intelligence. Seth is highly respected in the field of AI ethics and has extensive experience of over 12 years in data science, mentoring teams, and scaling machine learning solutions. 

According to Seth's LinkedIn profile, she holds an M.Sc degree in Physics with a specialisation in Plasma Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Calcutta along with a first-rank PG diploma in Sanskrit. 

Before establishing her own company, Seth was a Senior Data Scientist in Bengaluru and has also worked as an affiliate at Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University for two years in Boston, Massachusetts in the US responsible for Ethics and governance of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning.

She was also included the "100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics List" in 2021 and according to Berkman Klein's website, Seth holds patents in natural language processing. The site also says Seth is passionate about putting an end to the gender gap in data science and ran workshops with organisations like 'Woman Who Code'.
