Veteran actor Madhavi Gogate, popular for her role in television show Anupamaa, passed away Sunday, days after testing positive for COVID-19, as per reports. She was 58. Co-star Rupali Ganguly, who plays the serial lead and the on-screen daughter of Gogate, mourned her death on social media.

"So much left unsaid...Sadgati Madhaviji," Ganguly wrote in an Instagram story alongside a photo of the duo together.
As per News18, Gogate was under hospitalisation for COVID-19 and was recovering with treatment prior to her death in Mumabi on November 21. Read more here.
A popular face on Hindi television, Gogate's other credits included shows Ek Safar Aisa Kabhi Socha Na Tha and Kahiin To Hoga. Actor Rajeev Khandelwal, who shared screen space with her on the latter as her son, took to social media to offer his condolences.
"...it felt real each time I would do a scene with her. Will always cherish the time spent with her," he tweeted.
Besides Hindi entertainment, Gogate was a respected figure in the Marathi film and theatre circuit. She made her debut on the Marathi small screen last year with the show Tuza Maza Jamtay.
Fellow television veteran and friend Nilu Kohli shared a heartfelt post for Gogate on Instagram. "Madhavi Gogate my dear friend nooooo.I can’t get down to believing that you have left us .Heartbroken @gogatemadhavi you were too young to go.Damn Covid. P.S:I wish I had picked up that damn phone and spoken to you when you did not reply to my msg.All I can do is regret now," she wrote.
