Madhavi Gogate passes away: Television actor Madhavi Gogate, who was a part of the popular soap Anupamaa, passed away on November 21. Gogate had been diagnosed with COVID-19 a few days ago, following which she was admitted to the Seven Hills hospital in Mumbai for treatment. However, her condition continued to deteriorate and she breathed her last on Sunday.

A noted Marathi theatre and television personality, Gogate had worked in several Hindi daily soaps. In Anupamaa, she played the role of its central character's mother- Kanta Joshi. Actor Rupali Ganguly, who plays the titular role in this serial, mourned the death of Gogate on social media. "So much left unsaid... . Sadgati Madhaviji," Ganguly wrote in an Instagram story, also sharing a picture of herself with the late actor.
Veteran actor Nilu Kohli, who was a close friend of Gogate, too took to social media, to mourn her death. "Madhavi Gogate my dear friend nooooo.I can't get down to believing that you have left us .Heartbroken @gogatemadhavi you were too young to go.Damn Covid. P.S:I wish I had picked up that damn phone and spoken to you when you did not reply to my msg.All I can do is regret now," Kohli wrote in her post.
Madhavi Gogate had worked in several Hindi television shows like Kohi Apna Sa, Ek Safar Aisa Kabhi Socha Na Tha and Kahiin To Hoga. Prior to working in daily soaps, Gogate was popular in the Marathi theatre circuit, having worked in plays like Bhramacha Bhopala, Gela Madhav Kunikade, and had also worked opposite actor Ashok Saraf in the 2013 film Ghanchakkar.
In 2020, she made her debut on Marathi television with the serial Tuza Maza Jamtay, featuring Roshan Vichare, Monika Bagul and Apurva Nemlekar in the lead. The serial was directed by Mandar Kulkarni.
