Ketaki Chitale, the popular Marathi actor, posted derogatory comments on Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar. An FIR was lodged against the actor for disrespecting the popular politician and leader of NCP.
Social media witnesses a lot of confessions and comments every day. A common way of expressing one's thoughts, it also lands many people into trouble as those comments are no longer private and not confined to a handful number of people. A similar comment landed Marathi actor Ketaki into trouble as an FIR was lodged against her.
Ketaki took to her Facebook account to post about NCP leader Sharad Pawar whose party is currently one of the ruling coalition governments in Maharashtra. She did not take his name directly but instead used words like "Pawar" and "80 years of age". She called him out for allegedly hating brahmins. She called the former CM "cunning" and a sinner.
Her comments hurt the sentiments of the party members and followers of Pawar after which complaints were filed against the actor in various police stations in the state. She was booked under sections 505 and 153 O of the Indian Constitution in complaints filed in Kalwa, Pune and Thane. Maharashtra is ruled by the coalition government of NCP and Shiv Sena with Uddhav Thackeray as the CM. Sharad Pawar is the leader of NCP and a major face of Maharashtra politics and government.
Who Is Ketaki Chitale
Ketaki is a Marathi actor popular for playing Aboli in the 2012 Star Pravah show Ambat Goad. She has also played pivotal roles in shows like Saas Bina Sasural (2012) and Tuza Maza Breakup (2012).
She is also the founder and CEO of Accept Epilepsy and identifies herself with the pronouns She/They. The actor has a neurological condition called Epilepsy and through her Instagram page, she raises awareness about the same and also gives a glimpse of her everyday life.
The actor in 2019 had alleged that she was fired from the Marathi show Laxmi Sadaiv Mangalam because of her health condition. In 2021, Ketaki was rumoured to be participating in Bigg Boss Marathi for its season 3. However, she denied the rumours.
