Who Is Anu Tyagi? Wife Of Arrested Shrikant Tyagi Seeks Increased Security

Anu Tyagi, the wife of Shrikant Tyagi who was arrested alleged there was a threat to her husband’s life. Her husband was arrested after a video of him abusing and assaulting a woman went viral. He was arrested on charges of molestation, rioting, cheating, and relevant sections of the Gangster Act.

Shrikant Tyagi has been in judicial custody since August 9 and is currently lodged at Luksar jail. His wife Anu Tyagi submitted an application at the Surajpur district court seeking security cover for her husband when he leaves the jail to appear for court hearings.

In an application to the district court, Tyagi alleged a threat to her husband’s life and pleaded for security to be increased for her husband. She wrote in the plea, “Previously an attempt has been made to kill Shrikant Tyagi by gangster Vinay Tyagi after which he was fatally injured. At the time, Y level security was given to Shrikant but it was withdrawn later.”

• Anu Tyagi is the wife of arrested Noida politician Shrikant Tyagi who went viral after a video of him abusing and threatening a woman was uploaded on social media.
• Her husband described himself as a national executive member of the Bharatiya Janta Party’s Kisan Morcha. However, the political party has maintained that he is not a member.
• Tyagi was detained for questioning by the police and alleged that she and her family were being mentally tortured during the investigation.
• Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Safety and Central Noida) Ankita Sharma responded that Tyagi was treated with the utmost dignity.
• Tyagi also added that BJP had abandoned her husband. She said, “I have seen him attending programmes, events and rallies of the party… Now he has been abandoned”.
• She spoke about the viral video where her husband abused and threatened a female co-resident at the Grand Omaxe society in Sector 93B in Noida.
• Tyagi admitted that the language her husband used in the video was inappropriate and added that he should have apologised.
