Juliana Urtubey became the 2021 National Teacher of the Year and got a surprise visit from the First Lady of the US, Jill Biden.

As the education shifted from schools to online classes, teachers adopted different methods to spread knowledge. The curriculum revealed how learning difficulties, distractions, and challenging home dynamics can make it tough to adhere to a rigid curriculum. The silver lining in such tough times is the teacher who adapts to flexible methods to teach his/her students. One such teacher Juliana Urtubey was awarded the National Teacher of the Year 2021.

The First lady of the US, Jill Biden made a surprise visit to congratulate the new National Teacher of the Year during her three-state visit in Las Vegas. Juliana Urtubey said in a statement, “We, as teachers, are much more open to this self-paced learning, this flipped classroom, which has been an invitation for students who think and learn differently.”
