Jill Biden: In her first interview as the first lady of the United States of America, Jill Biden showed her laidback side and talked about various things such as what snacks she would pair her martini with and how to get over a divorce.
Kelly Clarkson, the show host, shared her experience of being recently divorced which made Jill Biden draw on her own experience. Jill Biden was married to another man and went through a divorce before getting married to Joe Bide in 1977. Speaking to Clarkson, Biden gave her advice she had received from her own mother, “If you can take one day at a time, things will get better.
Biden said, “I look back on it now, and I think if I hadn’t got divorced I never would have met Joe and I wouldn’t have the beautiful family I have now. So I really think things happen for the best.” She added that Kelly would be surprised after she gets healed over time and that she can’t wait until that day comes for Kelly Clarkson.
Jill Biden also talked about the agenda set by FLOTUS in the area of education and talked about her job as an English Literature teacher at a Northern Virginia community college. Biden further talked about the help reaching out to military families and the amount of work being done in cancer research. She took her first public trip as the first lady of the US last week when she visited the Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center. Talking to Kelly Clarkson about the same, she said, “It’s about time the country got serious about ending longstanding health inequities for people of color”.
