A remarkable act of bravery and self-defence came to light when a woman in Hyderabad along with her daughter courageously fought off two armed robbers barging in their house in Secunderabad, Telangana. The woman named Amita Mahnot who is trained in martial arts along with the help of her daughter bravely fought off two men barging into their house with brandishing pistols and a weapon. The brave women managed to fend off their home from robbers by sending the robbers to the right about.

A mother and daughter in Hyderabad displayed remarkable courage by fighting off two armed robbers who broke into their residence on Thursday afternoon. The incident, captured on CCTV footage, has garnered praise for the women and served as a reminder of self-defence awareness.

The woman, identified as Amita Mehot (42) and her daughter, were at home when the doorbell rang around 2 pm. Their maid answered the door to two men claiming to deliver a parcel. Despite being instructed to wait outside, one of the men, Sushil, brandished a gun, while his accomplice, Premchand, threatened the maid with a knife.

However, the would-be robbers underestimated the tenacity of the Mehot household. Amita and her daughter, in a courageous act, retaliated by kicking Sushil and raising an alarm. The CCTV footage shows the determined duo confronting the armed men, refusing to back down. Their bravery startled the robbers, who attempted to flee the scene.

While Premchand was apprehended by alert neighbours, Sushil initially managed to escape. Thankfully, the police were swift in their response and later apprehended him as well. Investigations revealed a surprising twist - the men were once employed by the Mehot family for about a year.

News of the incident spread quickly, with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Rohini Priyadarshini, commending the mother and daughter for their exceptional bravery. Amita's husband, Navratan, was present during the felicitation, expressing immense pride in his family's resilience.

The incident highlights the importance of remaining vigilant and aware of one's surroundings. Self-defence training can also be a valuable tool in such situations. While the Mehot family's courage proved instrumental in fending off the robbers, it's crucial to prioritize safety and avoid confrontation with armed individuals.
