On the occasion of India's 71st Republic Day, women led the stage. The Republic Day parade was not only an event to celebrate the nation but also to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Here are the women-centric moments at this year's parade.

In an interview, she told SheThePeople," You’re never really nervous because you work really hard. People see only one day- Republic Day, Army Day. They don’t realize that we have been practicing since months. So when it comes down to D Day, we’ve already practiced so much, that we, our men, we have that confidence- Ki Haan yaar, Josh type Karna hai.”
An all-woman bikers’ contingent of the CRPF made its appearance and showcased risky daredevil stunts at the January 26 Republic Day ceremony at Rajpath. The 65-member unit presented its acrobatic skills on 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles. Inspector Seema Nag led the contingent.
The all-woman CRPF contingent presented as many as nine acts of daring bike riding. They also created a human pyramid on multiple motorcycles.
She led the contingent of the transportable satellite terminal. In an interview she told SheThePeople,"With the importance and sanctity of the ceremony which is annually held marking the culmination of Republic Day festivities, being selected for this prestigious task was a privilege and matter of great pride and honour. This step heralded a beginning of new place and position to woman across all forces and we all are witness to it, Capt Shikha Surabhi leading daredevils team (2019), Lt Bhavan Kasturi leading all men contingent in RD parade (2019), Maj Khushboo Tanwar leading Assam Rifle woman contingent and likewise for Indian Air Force and Navy."
18 girls our of 49 children received Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puruskar 2020. The awards are given in fields of bravery, innovation, scholastic, sports, arts, culture social service and music.
Pilani's band
Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani's band was led by Senior Under Officer Charu Surana. The school has been continuously participating in the Republic Day parade for 56 years consecutively.
