A 15-year-old girl in Delhi's Shahdara murdered her neighbour, stabbing the woman to death over a quarrel for filling water from the common tap on the morning of April 12, turning the common arguments into a fatal turn of events by the evening.

A seemingly trivial argument over access to a shared water tap has tragically escalated into the murder of a 34-year-old woman by a 15-year-old girl who stabbed her neighbour to death with a kitchen knife. Stewed by many disputes between the neighbours on multiple issues, the teenager took the extreme step following an argument with the woman and her husband on the morning of the incident.

15-Year-Old Stabbed Woman To Death Over Water Tap Dispute In Delhi

On Friday morning, a quarrel erupted between a 34-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl and her mother, over filling water from a common tap in Delhi's Farsh Bazar area in Shahadara. As the verbal spat escalated, the 34-year-old woman allegedly twisted the hand of the 15-year-old girl, due to which she had to be taken to the hospital, where an X-ray of the teenager's hand was conducted and the girl was treated non-Medico Legal Case (MLC).

After returning home from the hospital by evening, the teenager and her mother resumed the argument that was cooled down in the morning after the deceased woman's drunk husband returned home and started cussing the family of the minor girl, as per the police.

The minor girl and her mother engaged in an altercation with the neighbours next door and as the quarrel began, during the heat of the moment, the minor girl picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed her neighbour in the stomach while also stabbing her multiple times in her left hand, said DCP of Shahadara Police Station Surendra Chaudhary.

Police around 11 p.m., police received a frantic call from a man saying his wife had been stabbed in the stomach and was lying unconscious on the floor. Prompting on the PCR call by the injured woman's husband, the police rushed the woman to the hospital, where she was pronounced "brought dead".

The minor girl was  arrested on Sunday and sent to an observation home. She will soon be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for the murder case, leaving a young life forever altered by this impulsive act of violence.
