Six Minor Girls Jump Off Speeding Truck To Escape Molestation

In a shocking incident, six minor school girls jumped off a moving truck to save themselves from the alleged attempt of molestation. The incident happened in Gujarat's Chhotaudepur district where a pick-up truck driver and five other men in the truck tried to rob and harass the girls when they boarded the truck while returning from school. Details of the case

According to reports, the girls are aged between 15-17 years and belong to a village in the Sankheda taluk of the district. According to the district superintendent of police Imtiyaz Shaikh, on Tuesday, the girls were returning from their school which is 5 km away from their homes. They boarded the pick-up truck where the men not only robbed them of money and other belongings but also tried to molest them. In an attempt to save themselves, the girls started jumping off the speeding truck. 

Eventually, the driver lost control and went off-road. The incident happened on the internal road of the Sankheda Taluk. The girls sustained minor injuries while five out of six men in the truck fled the spot. The owner of the truck has been nabbed by the police with some injuries. 

Charges imposed on the accused

On the complaint of the eldest of the six girls, who is 17 years old, an FIR has been registered against the six men. Charges of Protection of Children Against Sexual Offence (POCSO) and robbery have been pressed against the accused men. The man who has been caught is identified as Ashwin Bhil. The other five men who are absconding are Suresh Bhil (driver), Arjun Bhil, Paresh Bhil, Sunil Bhil and Shailesh Bhil. 

The girls were referred to the hospital because of the injuries and are now out of danger.
