The police in Haryana have arrested the wife and brother-in-law of the coach and owner of the wrestling academy in Sonipat which was connected to the murder of a newcomer wrestler named Nisha Dahiya and her brother.

The police have also announced a reward of one lakh rupees for the information of the absconding coach identified as Pawan and another person named Sachin, as per reports. Dahiya, a university-level wrestler and her brother were shot dead on Wednesday and their mother was severely injured. The family was attacked by unidentified assailants near a wrestling academy in Sonipat district.

The Haryana police have suspected that the coach who is also the owner of the said wrestling academy in Sonipat's Haldar area was responsible for the shooting incident. According to the officials, the coach's wife Sujata and his brother-in-law Amit were arrested since they were present at the academy when Nisha Dahiya and her brother Suraj were shot dead. Anyone who comes up with a clue about the location of Pawan and Sachin, the police will reward them with one lakh rupees. Pictures of the two suspects have also been circulated on social media, the officials said.
The police have said that coach Pawan used to misbehave with Dahiya at the academy during practice hours.

The shooting incident caught the nation's attention on Wednesday because of the brutality of the crime and confusion in the deceased wrestler's identity. Media houses wrongly reported that Nisha Dahiya, the famous wrestling champion who plays in the Under-23 category was shot dead. In a video, the champion Dahiya confirmed that she is alive and well in Gonda playing the senior nationals tournament. The coach who travelled with the Indian team also confirmed to the news agency that the wrestler killed in the shooting was a newcomer and not the bronze medallist.
