Raipur: Speeding Trailer Rams Into School Bus Carrying 30 Kids

A piece of disturbing news has come from Raipur, Chhattisgarh. On Thursday evening, a speeding trailer crashed head-on with a school bus carrying 30 children on the Raigarh-Jashpur route.

A bus carrying 30 students collided with a trailer in Raipur.

A piece of disturbing news has come from Raipur, Chhattisgarh. On Thursday evening, a speeding trailer crashed head-on with a school bus carrying 30 children between the ages of 12 and 14 on the Raigarh-Jashpur route.

The bus driver, helper and children were injured in the accident, but no causalities were reported.

Video Shows What Happened

The whole incident was recorded on the CCTV camera. The video showed that the trailer driver was speeding when he collided with the school bus that was approaching from the other direction. According to reports, he was drunk and lost control of the car, which resulted in the crash.

Authorities rushed to the spot, hurriedly transporting all of the injured students to the nearest hospital. Up to 25 kids with minor injuries received initial care before being released. Along with the bus driver and assistant, another five kids who had fractures were also taken to the Raigarh district hospital. All of the injured people receiving medical attention were reported to be in stable condition.

Further Investigations Underway

Taran Prakash Sinha, the collector of Raigarh, has directed the police and medical staff to keep a careful eye on the condition of the injured. The driver and helper of the trailer that was involved in the collision made an effort to flee the scene but were eventually caught by authorities.

Police have launched an inquiry to find out what caused the crash and look into any possible carelessness.

Other Bus Accident In The State

On July 7, three people were killed and six others injured in a bus accident near Bilaspur. The incident happened when the bus, which was carrying 40 passengers, was travelling to Raipur to attend a meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

The bus's front end was entirely destroyed by the crash since it was so severe. On the surface, it appears that the bus's driver "dozed off" at approximately 5 am and lost control of the motor vehicle.

Bhupesh Baghel, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, issued an ex-gratia of 4 lakh rupees for each of the relatives of the deceased and ordered that those who were injured receive good medical care.
