Veteran Actor Savita Bajaj Seeks Financial Help

Savita Bajaj seeks financial help: 79-year-old Savita Bajaj known for her roles in movies like Nishant, Nazrana and Beta Ho Toh Aisa is battling a financial crisis. In an interview with TOI, she mentioned that all her savings have dried up. She is seeking financial help to pay for her medical bills.

Coronavirus infected the actor in April and forced her to stay in the hospital for 22 days. She was admitted again recently and revealed that her family was reluctant to keep her. She also added that it was becoming difficult for her to survive in the city.

Here are some important things to know

1. She said that she has developed serious breathing issues. She has spent most of her savings on her failing health.

2. The writers’ association helped her with Rs 1 lakh in 2016 when she met with an accident.

3. Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) also helped her with Rs 50,000.

4. She assured everyone that she would pay back the amount once she resumes work.

“Sadly, I have nobody who can take care of me today. Around 25 years ago, I had decided to move back to my hometown, Delhi, but no one in my family wanted to keep me. I have earned a lot, helped those in need, but today I need help.”, she said.

Savita Bajaj's career

Savita Bajaj has worked in over 50 films. Besides this, she took up acting projects in TV shows such as Nukkad, Maayka and Kavach, among others. National School of Drama (NSD) is her alma mater.

Shagufta Ali seeks help

Last week, Veteran TV actor Shagufta Ali was also in the news as she was dealing with a financial crisis and needed help to deal with medical issues.

She is a breast cancer survivor. She is also a diabetes patient and her health deteriorated with time. After Ali was diagnosed with diabetes, her health worsened. The disease has impacted her eyes and her condition requires proper medical attention.

She was seen in TV shows like Punar Vivah, Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera, Sasural Simar Ka and Saath Nibhana Saathiya. In 2018, she appeared in the soap opera Bepannaah. She has acted in movies like Isi Life Mein, International Khiladi, Laila Majnu etc. Read more about her here.
