CEO of internet website ScoopWhoop, Sattvik Mishra, has been accused of sexual assault by his ex-employee. The survivor had put up the incident on his social media account alleging that he had been assaulted on January 14. Later, on February 7, he posted further details of the incident naming Mishra as the accused. “I was sexually assaulted by the CEO of ScoopWhoop Pvt Ltd, Sattvik Mishra. I have been denied my truth and punished for just wanting to live my life,” he wrote.

Mishra has denied the claims made by the survivor and has accused him of harassment. The ex-employee has denied these allegations saying that he had been offered the hush money by people on the behalf of the CEO.

Here’s the timeline of Sattvik Mishra sexual assault case tracing what has happened so far:

  • The ex-employee alleged that in October 2021, he was sexually assaulted by ScoopWhoop CEO Sattvik Mishra during their meeting. By that time, the survivor was no longer an employee at ScoopWhoop.
  • He claimed that after the incident, he had also filed a complaint with the Grievance Committee of the company. “Mr Mishra made unwanted, unsolicited, and uncalled sexual advances and sexually predatory behaviour of criminal and civil consequences and is in violation of the law, "the complaint said.
  • In November 2021, the survivor moved to court against Mishra and his wife accusing the CEO of the sexual offence and his wife regarding abetment under Sections 108 and 116 of the IPC.
  • In January 2022, ScoopWhoop’s spin-off WhoopScoop Media Private Limited reached out to court trying to prevent the allegation on Mishra going public in order to safeguard the company’s reputation after the posts made by the survivor on his social media account. The injunction plea had been dismissed by the court and the case remains open.
  • Mishra has denied all the allegations made by the survivor against him and has filed a case of extortion accusing the anchor of fabricating the story and demanding 7 crores from him. The survivor has, in turn, refused these allegations claiming that people had offered him the money to keep him shut regarding the assault on the behalf of Sattvik Mishra.
  • Sattvik Mishra recently stepped down as the CEO of the company stating that the past months have been hard to deal with for him and his family mentioning that they are being threatened and mentally harassed by an ex-employee.
