Queen Elizabeth's Granddaughter, Princess Beatrice Is Expecting Her First Child

Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen's granddaughter, Princess Beatrice is expecting her first child.

The 32-year-old princess, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will see their child in autumn this year. It is said that "both families are delighted with the news.''

Princess Beatrice married Mozzi in July last year

Princess Beatrice is the elder daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. She got married to Mapello Mozzi, an Italian property developer in July last year. Their wedding ceremony was an intimate affair, but had a lot of constraints, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Princess Beatrice's child will be the Queen's 12th great-grandchild, and will be 11th in line to the throne. However, the child won't get a royal title, inspite of its mother being a princess.

It is said that the Queen can bestow a royal title upon her great-grandchild, if she wishes too.

Beatrice's younger sister, Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank had welcomed their first child in February. Their son was named August.

It is interesting to note that this royal announcement coincided with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's third wedding anniversary. Many Twitter users were quick to point this out as soon as the Royal Family made the announcement on their official Twitter handle.

Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.



The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.

Meanwhile, investigative journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett claimed that Meghan Markle had apparently 'embarrassed' Prince Harry, by revealing that she was pregnant, during Princess Eugenie's wedding day. It is said that Markle's actions left Eugenie and her mother, Sarah Ferguson 'furious'. This claim was made by the journalists in their book titled Royals At War. The aforementioned incident supposedly happened on 12 October 2018.

Besides awaiting the birth of her first child, Beatrice is already the step mother of Mozzi's son, Christopher Woolf. Woolf is Mozzi's son from his previous relationship.
