Currently, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is engaged in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh election campaign. She had released a 'women's manifesto' earlier this month. The female students in the state will be provided with a smartphone after passing class 12th exam and the female graduates will get an electronic scooty if Congress is voted to power in the state.

The party has also announced to give 40 per cent quota to women in government jobs.

"I’m hoping that this women’s manifesto will put pressure on other political parties to address similar issues. We want to start releasing a women-specific manifesto so that women can make their own decisions,” Priyanka Gandhi said. In addition to the gas cylinders, scooties, smartphones, the politician also announced that women senior citizens and widows will be given a monthly pension of 1,000 rupees. Every newborn girl would receive a fixed deposit in her name. A free internet connection will be provided to homes that are headed by a woman.

Since the Prime Minister of India has now also announced cash outreach schemes for women in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress leader attacked the ruling party. She said, "What did I say to the women of UP? To use their power. Now even PM Modi has given in. Why didn't he announce this in the last five years? Why now, before elections? Women have woken up with our 'ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon' slogan."
