Bollywood actor Preity Zinta revealed on social media that her family members, including her mother and brother, have now recovered from COVID-19. Zinta warned her followers that "the threat is still very real." The actor recently revealed in an Instagram post that her mother and brother have successfully battled the virus and tested negative after three weeks. The actress wrote, “Three weeks ago my Mom, brother, his wife, kids & my uncle all tested positive for Covid 19. Suddenly terms like ventilators, ICU and oxygen machines took a new meaning”.
Zinta, who is currently in Los Angeles with her husband Gene Goodenough, wrote in her post that she "felt helpless and powerless" being miles away as her family "battled it out in the hospital." In a heartfelt note, she added that now the new year feels like a "happy one".

“I’m so grateful to the almighty and to all those wonderful doctors & nurses that worked tireless to take care of them. For all of you who don’t take Covid seriously please be warned that this can become dangerous overnight so please take care, wear a mask & practice social distancing," she wrote, urging people to follow the COVID-19 guidelines.
Sharing an update on her family's fight with the coronavirus, she wrote, "Today, after hearing that they have all tested negative I can finally fall asleep and stop stressing. Finally the new year feels like a happy new year."

Earlier in December, Preity Zinta had shared glimpses of how she managed to spend her days doing various activities during yet another coronavirus induced lockdown that was imposed in Los Angeles. She was last seen in 2018 film Bhaiaji Superhit and she also featured in a small role on Fresh Off The Boat for one episode.
