The incident reportedly took place on June 24 when a woman CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) staff wanted to confirm Doli Goswami's pregnancy. Goswami was travelling to New Delhi from Guwahati by SpiceJet flight SG-169 along with her husband Shivam Sarmah.

After this incident, Doli’s husband posted on Twitter, slamming the security forces.

Doli’s husband

@CISFHQrs @narendramodi Dear CISF, please learn how to treat a pregnant woman. Yesterday, in Guwahati airport my wife was harrased by CISF staff named Sujata, she forced my wife to undress to verify pregnancy. Is it a crime being pregnant in this country? pic.twitter.com/DRYS4FVZVO

— Shivam Sarmah (@shivamsarmah) June 25, 2018 on Twitter about her ordeal and said, “the lady CISF staff asked his wife to go to a room with former where she was forced to strip. The lady staff asked my wife to accompany her to a room and forced her to undress. The CISF lady staff also pushed my wife's abdomen to check pregnancy."

He revealed that even after several requests, the airline too asked multiple questions on pregnancy for about 20 minutes before providing them boarding passes.

The couple shared that they had no such issues at Delhi Airport on June 12. They boarded a flight on June 12 from Delhi, as Doli’s father passed away on June 11 night. But their return journey was more like a nightmare for them. Sarmah shared how the CISF staff asked his wife to show proof of her pregnancy. He stated, "When we approached the security check, the CISF staff did not hand over the boarding pass and asked my wife to show proof of her pregnancy."

He said, “Finally, she asked my wife to accompany her to a room and she was forced to undress. The CISF woman officer also pushed her abdomen to check pregnancy manually.”

The CISF on 26th June said that the woman sub-inspector, who allegedly strip-searched a pregnant lady at Guwahati airport has been transferred from screening duty to training. They have confirmed that the matter will be inquired into thoroughly.
