Man Forces Pregnant Wife To Drink Toilet Cleaner, Flees After She Dies

On the basis of the complaint registered by the relatives of the deceased, the police have filed a case against the husband and two of his family members.

Pregnant woman forced to drink toilet cleaner by her husband in the Nizamabad district of Telangana died on 27th April. The husband had allegedly forced her to drink toilet cleaning acid. This incident took place at Rajpet Thanda in Varni Mandal there. The husband, who is the accused in the case, is absconding while the investigating police have formed teams to nab him.

The investigating officer told that the accused married the deceased woman about four years ago. His name is Tarun. The news media reported that the accused had allegedly started harassing the woman when she became pregnant, which was three months ago. The police also told that he did this as the deceased woman was not "good looking."

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, the police told that an argument had broken between the couple. Wherein the accused forced the deceased woman, named Kalyani, to drink toilet cleaning liquid. Post which she fell extremely ill and was taken to a government hospital in Nizamabad for treatment by her family members.

She was under treatment but passed away later. After this, the deceased woman's relatives registered a complaint against the husband and his family members alleging that they had harassed her. The reason given for the harassment was that they sought additional dowry from her and then killed her by forcing her to drink the cleaning liquid.

The accused had allegedly started harassing the woman when she became pregnant, which was three months ago. The police also told that he did this as the deceased woman was not "good looking.", as per a report.

On the basis of the complaint registered by the relatives of the deceased, the police have filed a case against the husband and two of his family members. They have been charged under sections 302, which deals with murder, 304B, which deals with the death of a woman due to burns or bodily injuries, and 498A, which deals with cruelty against a woman met by her husband or husband's relatives, of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigating team has formed groups to nab the absconding husband for the alleged crime.
