In a tweet fleet on Friday, Narendra Modi applauded Kamala Harris's vice presidency as a historic occasion, while adding that he is confident that India-USA ties will grow further under the leadership of President Biden and her.

Vice-President Kamala Harris created history in 2020, when she became the first woman, as well as the first person of colour to be elected as the vice-president of the United States. She had previously served as District Attorney of San Francisco, California Attorney General and United States Senator. She was, infact, only the second black woman to be elected to the US Senate.

"The meeting reflected warmth and cordiality. Discussions covered a number of areas, which included Covid-19, climate change, the issue of terrorism, cooperation in the technology including cooperation in cybersecurity, space, etc," Foreign Secretary Harsh V Shringla revealed on Thursday, reported Times of India.
