The woman's ordeal

As per the reports, the husband locked the woman inside the house in Mysuru and restricted all her movements. He also used to torture her. The woman, who is in her early thirties, used a small box for toilet and loo breaks. She is the third wife of the man.

The pair has two kids who go to school. When they used to return from school, they waited outside the house until the man came back from work and let them in.

Speaking about the ordeal, the woman said, "It’s been 12 years since I got married. He always locked me up in the house and tortured me. Nobody in the area would question him... My children go to school. But they remain outside until my husband comes back from work. I would give them food through the window."

Police intervened. But the woman refused to file a complaint

However, a senior police officer said that the woman was confined inside the house for the past two to three weeks only. The officer also said that the husband did all this because he was insecure. "Her movement was restricted. She has visited her parents’ home in the past. The husband was locking her up inside the house before leaving for work. He was insecure."

Both the husband and the wife have been counselled. After the counselling, the woman said that she didn't want to file any complaint against her husband. She said that she would rather live at her parents' house and try to sort out her marital issues
