The woman was de-boarding a moving train when the incident took place. In the process, she slipped and nearly got stuck in the gap. She was unable to balance herself and stumbled but was saved by the constable and few other men who joined him to save her.

The footage of the incident was shared by Shivaji M Sutar, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Central Railway, on Twitter. He said, “RPF staffer Shri SR Khandekar saved the life of a pregnant woman who had slipped while attempting to de-board a moving train at Kalyan railway station today. Railway appeals to passengers not to board or de-board a running train,” he added.

The woman was not supposed to be on that train, as per a media report. They were supposed to board a train from Kalyan as they wanted to go to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. But they boarded another train and started de boarding it by the time the family realised their mistake. That resulted in the incident.

She was saved on time. There are no injuries on her body. After the incident, the family left for Gorakhpur in their scheduled train. Early this year, Company Operating Base (COB) Bunawadar of the Indian Army was in news for helping a pregnant woman in north Kashmir reach hospital by carrying her through knee-deep snow for over two kilometres.
