The incident occurred in the first week of July, when the 35-year-old actor, primarily known for her work in Southern film, visited her apartment to check the designer's work.
She confronted the designer about the poor quality of work, after which an argument broke between the two.
Allegedly, the designer abused her verbally and threw her out of the apartment.
The actor claimed that he had warned her against going to the cops. This is why the complaint was delayed.
The police officials have registered a complaint based on the actor's statement and an investigation is underway. However, no arrest has been made so far.
The identities of the actor and the designer haven't been revealed. As per Supreme Court directives, the privacy of the victim requires protection in cases related to sexual crimes.
A similar incident took place in Feb 2017 when an actor was abducted and sexually assaulted in a moving vehicle. One of the suspects in the case was actor Dileep. Allegedly, he hired kidnappers to capture the actor and assault her.
He even asked them to record visuals of the act and send him. Allegedly, Dileep was having an extra marital affair with Kavya Madhavan at that time. The survivor had revealed this to his first wife Manju Warrier.
Last week, Madhavan, Dileep's second wife, appeared before the trial court in Ernakulam, Kerala in connection to the case. Back when the incident occurred, the police had conducted an investigation at her office and questioned her too. They were informed that a memory card which contained pictures of the assault was kept there.
Warrier had confirmed in her statement that she divorced Dileep in 2015 and that the survivor had informed her of his extra marital affair. Read more on it here.
