Mindy Kaling Announces Birth Of Baby Boy
As per E! Online, host Stephen Colbert prodded Kaling to reveal her good news. He said, "I got something I rarely get these days, which is good news, so if you wouldn't mind sharing with our audience I think they'd be thrilled to find out something extraordinary that nobody knows up until this moment.” Consequently, Kaling confirmed that she welcomed a baby boy on September 3, 2020. Revealing the secret, she said, “Yes, I'm telling it for the first time now. It feels so strange. This is news to a lot of people. It's true!"
The Mindy Project star was able to pull off a secretive pregnancy as she has been quarantining with her toddler daughter in her Los Angeles home since the advent of the Coronavirus pandemic. Notably, Kaling has always been extremely private about her personal life and did not confirm her first pregnancy until Oprah Winfrey revealed the same. Additionally, she did not reveal the father’s identity in both her pregnancy announcements.
Mindy Kaling Discusses Parenthood In New Book
Kaling’s announcement comes in the wake of her new book’s release earlier this week. Nothing Like I Imagined (Except for Sometimes), a collection of personal essays, is the actress’ second book. The book includes her views on single parenting: “ Sometimes it's the most liberating and lucky feeling in the world. Sometimes I am just so grateful to be an independent woman doing what I want, when I want, that I could cry with gratitude."
On the work front, Kaling recently produced the hugely popular Netflix series Never Have I Ever. The show bagged numerous nominations in the People’s Choice Awards announced last week. She has also joined the team of the highly-anticipated third instalment of Legally Blonde as a writer.
