The popular Indian-American, actor-producer Mindy Kaling receives the prestigious Medal Of Arts on Tuesday from the President of the United States Joe Biden, on the behalf of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) medals are the highest awards given to people under the category of creative by the federal government in the country. As per the press release, Mindy Kaling got selected due to her "work across film, television, and books inspires and delights, and for uplifting and capturing the experiences of girls and women across the nation"
After winning the prestigious award Mindy Kaling came forward and shared her joy over the internet through an Instagram post alongside pictures from the amazing event, she wrote the caption," Just a little while ago, I got a call from Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson that the National Endowment of the Arts and the office of the President of the United States wanted to give me the prestigious National Medal of Arts for my work as an author and in television. I am still processing how to receive the amazing news."
She further added that she went to collect the award at the White House with her family and got overwhelmed by hearing the President speak about her parents, their journey to the United States, and her late mother's dreams as well as the power of comedy that aspires people to make people understand each other. It almost didn't feel real to her.
She expressed her gratitude to POTUS, nea arts, and Kamala Harris, she further added that she will work even harder to earn the medal because she thinks she hasn't earned it yet.
Mindy Kaling also mentioned that her mother died in the year 2012 after suffering from pancreatic cancer, and said that she wished her mom could have been there at the event, but she can't do anything as nothing is perfect, but the event was something close to perfection for her.
She also claimed that she loves everyone and specially thanked kate-linden, Vinay Reddy as well as picsschmicks for helping it all happen. For the special occasion, Mindy reflected the proper spring vibes and wore a purple minidress paired with sky-high matching pumps.
