A US-bound flight was forced to fly back to its origin in Japan after a 55-year-old man bit the hands of a flight attendant in mid-air. The flight belonged to All Nippon Airways (ANA) which took off at 9:47 pm and was supposed to reach Seattle 10 hours later. As soon as the plane touched the Tokyo Haneda Airport, the man was nabbed and arrested.

How the incident transpired 

As per reports, the plane was flying over the Pacific Ocean when the intoxicated man bit the arm of a flight attendant. Flying with 159 passengers bound for the US, the plate diverted and moved back to Japan when this incident happened. 

A spokesperson of ANA told media, "While flying over the Pacific Ocean, a passenger who was heavily intoxicated bit the arm of a female cabin attendant prompting the plane to return to Tokyo Haneda airport."

The man on the other side claims that he had taken sleeping pills and so didn't remember anything that happened on the plane. The name of the accused has not been revealed but has been arrested for assault 

Other similar incidents

On Thursday, a 36-year-old flight attendant from American Airlines was arrested for filming young girls in aeroplane bathrooms. The FBI has charged him with sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornographic material depicting young girls yet to hit puberty. In July 2022, a woman hit, bit and spit at cabin crew while on a flight on an American Airlines. The flight was from Dallas to Charlotte when the incident happened. The USA’s Federal Aviation Administration imposed a fine of $81,950 on the female passenger. 

In the same month, a woman passenger tried to hug and kiss a passenger and bit a passenger on a Delta Air Lines flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta. The Federal Aviation Administration charged a fine of $77,272 to the woman.
