“None should die this way in the future. Let our brother be the last name in this list of killings. Let nobody be murdered like this in the future. For our sake and for the sake of several families like us, we need you to promise that such atrocities will not happen in the future. Will you promise us that at least?” said Sumayya in her letter.

The police have arrested two CPI (M) workers namely Akash (23) and Rijin Raj (24) on Sunday night. People are sharing widely on social media that Akash has pictures with CM Vijayan and CPI (M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Earlier the Karni Sena took the lead in sloganeering, threatening and bullying civilians in the country with no actions being taken against the community or the individual offenders. These groups consider it very easy to get away unhampered in such situations.

Poor law and order and rather lousy practice of jurisdiction has left the whole country at the helm of riots, protests and slandering by a few goons only because they have the hand of some political party or the other’s hands over them.

For our sake and for the sake of several families like us, we need you to promise that such atrocities will not happen in the future. Will you promise us that at least?

Just on this Thursday, an event in one of Delhi University college's met with a similar incident where members of one youth political party ABVP disrupted a workshop only because a woman chief of another youth political party, Kawalpreet Kaur of AISA, had joined the panel discussion in the college. The men created a ruckus in the auditorium of the college while abusing and attacking the teachers and students alike. And all this happened while the boys ironically shouted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai".

Such a scene in a college campus or anywhere else can send jitters down anyone’s spine and for what? For gaining some mileage in their political careers? This is sending out a loud and clear message to the youth of the country—if one wants to get into it then they will have to do a few crimes like rioting, molesting women in the crowds or even killing people because that’s how party workers today recognize the worth of a youth leader.
