On recalling her childhood after the announcement of passengers of the space flight Galactic 02, Schahaff said this was a dream come true as she always used to wonder looking at the skies how she would reach there someday. She talked about how she is grateful to be a part of the mission in making space more accessible for people.

The duo will also be accompanied by 80-year-old passenger Jon Godwin who would be the first Olympian and second person with Parkinson's disease to travel space. Godwin was diagnosed with the disease in 2014. He was determined to not let it stand in the way of his wishes and, through Galactic 02, travelling to space with his condition is truly "magical", he expressed.

The trio will also be accompanied by the company's chief astronaut instructor Beth Moss who has already made her journey thrice in Virgin Galactic and was the first person to travel in the company's space flight in 2019.

Virgin Galactic has till now sold 800 tickets for the flight of which 600 tickets cost $250,000 and 200 tickets cost $450,000. Galactic 02 will last for 90 minutes at 2600 mph, transporting four passengers on the edge of space in the suborbital flight.

Earlier in June, a group of Italian researchers first took the flight from New Mexico in Virgin Galactic's first mission, making space commercially accessible to all. This success commenced the plan of launching the second space flight Galactic 02.

Virgin Galactic is the brainchild of British Billionaire Richard Branson, who will now continue the mission of Galactic 02 in August this year.
