Pamela Goswami arrested: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth leader Pamela Goswami was produced in a court on Saturday after getting arrested on Friday evening in West Bengal's Kolkata. In a court hearing today, she demanded that Police should arrest BJP Bengal Chief Kailash Vijayvargiya's close aide Rakesh Singh in the case. However, she failed to verify the allegations.
She went on to demand a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigation in the case, India Today reported. Earlier, Goswami's mother Madhuchanda Goswami told India Today that her daughter has been falsely accused in the conspiracy. "We have never even tasted cocaine,” she claimed. Talking about her daughter's allegations against Rakesh Singh, she said that she doesn’t know about him and that it is completely “bogus”.

Goswami, General Secretary of Bengal BJP Yuva Morcha, was taken into custody for allegedly carrying lakhs worth of cocaine (estimated 100 gm). She was reportedly caught with drugs in her purse and under the seat of the car she was in. Her friend and colleague in the Yuva Morcha, Prabir Kumar Dey, was also arrested.
Denying all the claims, Rakesh Singh told ABP News he has no involvement with her. He also refuted to be invloved in the case and said that he will quit politics if he is found guilty. He also claimed that he hasn't seen Goswami for the past two years.
Goswami worked as a model before joining politics. She was also an air hostess and a Bengali television actress.
