Jennifer Lopez Denies Botox Claims: American actor-singer Jennifer Lopez recently lashed out on Instagram against comments alleging she had undergone botox treatment to stay youthful. In a new interview, the 51-year-old, who is popularly known as JLo, opened up on why she felt the need to - "for the 500 millionth time" - refute claims of her getting botox. "I don't have to lie about things," she says, adding that she has nothing against people who turn to botox. 

Speaking to People recently, she elaborated on her decision to offer an explanation to the user alleging botox use. "I don't judge anybody. If you want to do Botox and injectables, that's fine! But... Please don't call me a liar. I don't have to lie about things. I've been pretty honest about my whole life... I just felt it had to be set straight, but in a loving way. And one of my big beauty secrets is that I try to be kind to others and lift up other women."

Earlier in January, Lopez shared a video of her trying a face mask from her own newly launched brand 'JLo Beauty.' An Instagram user commented, "You definitely have Botox. And tons of it. And it's all good. Just saying." Lopez, never one to take unwarranted criticism lying down, hit back replying, "LOL that's just my face!!! for the 500 millionth time...I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery!! And here is another JLO Beauty secret: try spending your time being more positive, kind and uplifting of others."

Jennifer Lopez On Receiving Criticism For Her Body

The 51-year-old star of films like Maid in Manhattan and Second Act is generally renowned for her youthfulness and for breaking conventional standards of beauty in the mainstream. However, she has often visibly been at the receiving end of criticism from detractors. Last year in November, the global icon posed nude, flaunting her curves, for the cover art of her single In The Morning.

We reported how the singer was faced with a barrage of comments claiming she was "too old" to be without clothes or posing like she did in public. "Act your goddamn age old woman," one user wrote. 

Recently, her former partner Ben Affleck, too addressed the negativity that surrounded Lopez when the two were together between 2002 and 2004. He said, "Sexist, racist, ugly, vicious s*** was written about her in ways that if you wrote it now, you would literally be fired for saying those things you said." Read more here.
