In the latest news, the death count in the Indore Temple stepwell collapse rose to 36. The stepwell roof at the Beleshwar Mahadev temple also served as the platform for the temple and couldn't sustain the weight of the large crowd on Ram Navami. Over five bulldozers have been deployed at the site to take down the illegal construction at the temple. Several officers reached the site at the time to make sure no other disturbance was caused in and around the area while the demolition was carried out.

Indore Temple Stepwell Collapse Kills 35

Indore Collector Ilayaraja T spoke with ANI and revealed that a total of 35 people died in the tragic Indore temple collapse and that 14 people were rescued.

He added that the rescue operation took 18 hours.

The Beleshwar Mahadev temple was constructed after covering the stepwell four decades ago.

Kalakshetra College Shut Down After Student Protest Sexual Harassment

The students of Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts on the Kalakshetra Foundation campus protested and demanded the ouster of four faculty members accused of sexual harassment.

The students sat in silent protest and later took out a protest march and chanted "We want justice".

The protest took place a day after NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma visited the campus to enquire about the allegations. The students claimed they were not given a chance to speak with Sharma.

Elderly Visually Impaired Woman Raped By Landlord

A 70-year-old visually impaired woman was allegedly raped by her former landlord in the Dhanbad district in Jharkhand.

The woman and her relatives lodged a complaint against the 55-year-old former landlord.

According to Sudamdih Police Station officer-in-charge, Pradip Rana, said the accused was missing after the incident. He added that a manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
