Mohammad Altaf Bhat, a businessman was among the four people killed in encounter by police in their ant-encounter operation. The incident took place at a commercial complex in Srinagar. The police had claimed that they killed a Pakistani terrorist and his associates. The police have now said that Altaf Bhat was killed in crossfire.

But the people of the region have accused the police of killing civilians in the name of targeting terrorists. The widespread protests in the area was also joined by the leaders such as Mehbooba Mufti. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir posted on twitter on November 18 that she has been put under house arrest, once again.

Hyderpora Encounter: Mohammad Altaf Bhat's Daughter Sobs On Camera

Apart from the images of unrest in Srinagar, a video has been circulating on social media in which the deceased man. Mohammad Altaf Bhat's daughter is seen sobbing on camera describing the moment she got to know about her father's death. According to the police, Altaf Bhat was a "harbourer of terrorists" as he allegedly did not give information about his tenants, who were allegedly terrorists, to the police.

Bhat's 13-year-old daughter struggling to control her tears on camera that she got a call from her uncle at 10 am and he started crying. That is when the girl heard the sounds of people screaming and shouting. She said, " I ran away. I was praying to Allah," as she broke down.

She said that her cousin, who is a witness told her that her father was picked up by the police two times and was released. The third time he was killed. " What is the meaning of this? Other witnesses were also killed - what is this?"

She further shared, "I tell them - uncle how can you think my father is this...They laugh at me - what response can I give them? They were laughing...They were shamelessly laughing at me. What could I say to them?"

She also talked about the son of second person killed with her father that day, "My brother is in his class. He is very young. What do we tell him? He is very close to his father. I am attached to my father. Now what will I do? How do I take care of my mother? She is not eating. She is crying. What do I do?"

Mehbooba Mufti and other political leaders have raised their voice against the police and have demanded justice. The family members have been demanding the police to return the dead bodies of her persons killed in the shopping complex incident but the police had reportedly denied citing law and order problems. On Wednesday the officials announced that Bhat and and Mudasir Gul killed in the encounter have been exhumed and their bodies will be handed over to their family members.

A video of a little boy asking the police to return his father's body has also been doing rounds on social media.
