Hima Das DSP: Hima Das took to Twitter to share pictures of the ceremony where she is being given the batch of Deputy Superintendent of Assam Police.

Das said that her appointment as DSP is her biggest dream come and true she will always wear this honour with pride. In her tweet, she thanked the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and politician Hemant Biswa and Kiren Rijuju for the appointment along with her parents.
The ceremony took place on Friday and was attended by top persons in authority of Assam including the CM and Director General of Police.
After receiving the appointment letter and badge, Das said, “People here know and I am not going to say anything different. Since my early school days, I harboured a wish to become a police officer one day and my mother also wished that.”
She added that she used to buy a toy gun as a child during Durga Puja celebrations and had always dreamt of this moment. She further said, “I got everything due to sports, I will try to work for betterment of sports in the state and try to make Assam one of the best performing states in the country, like Haryana.” She assured that her work in Assam Police will not make sports take a back seat in her life going forward.
Assam CM also tweeted about the appointment and called it a “proud day for Assam”. He added, “An honour for her achievements under the Sports Policy, the appointment will further motivate youths to pursue excellence in sports.” Read more about Hima Das’ recent achievements in sports, here.
