Annually, the first Monday in May brings together people from the realms of fashion, music and film for the Met Gala in New York. The celebrities have taken this year’s “Heavenly Bodies” theme all the way up, wearing something equally high-fashion, but with a secular touch.

Bollywood beauties Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone made a stunning appearance at the Gala. Priyanka recently debuted the third season of her spy-thriller, Quantico. Priyanka’s themed look is a winner all the way. She opted for a wine red Ralph Lauren gown along-with an embellished gold chain headdress.
Rihanna never fails to surprise you. She has yet again seriously considered the theme, making all heads turn at the Gala. She is wearing Maison Margiela by John Galliano. Rihanna is a co-host this year alongside Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace.
Deepika wore a red draped gown. Her ensemble was designed by Prabal Gurung. Deepika made her Met Gala debut last year.
Popstar Katy Perry never shies away from making a bold statement. Perry, who sported the Versace look, dressed as an archangel.

Sarah Jessica Parker made a stunning return to the red carpet. She paid respect to the “Catholic Imagination” dress code in a high-fashion way, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana gown.
Madonna wore a regal black Jean Paul Gaultier gown which she paired with a black net veil over her face that was held in place by jewelled crosses and rosaries.
The ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ actress began trending on social media as soon as she was seen sporting a turquoise Valentino cape and chartreuse dress. The two-time Oscar-winning actress, 60, made heads turn as she was seen confidently wearing a headpiece by the famed London milliner.
Lopez embraced the theme of the evening in a heavily embellished Balmain dress. She confidently carried the gem-encrusted gown with a bold cross on the front.
Blake Lively, who is a Met Gala regular, wore a long ruby princess Versace dress, working it well in front of the cameras.
Mindy Kaling was donning a Vassilis Zoulias dress. She wore a massive gold crown featuring giant light blue gems for the occasion, portraying serious medieval royal vibes.
Most of the actors, music stars and models sported colours of red, white, gold and black. The invitation-only Met Gala is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year’s exhibit shows how Catholicism has influenced fashion and designers through the decades.
