A graduate from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, took to Twitter to thank rapper Nicki Minaj for paying his tuition fee. The student, Artavion Cook, wrote, "This day is even more special because @NICKIMINAJ paid my tuition a few semesters ago, and today is her birthday!”

It happened in 2017 when Nicki Minaj started engaging with her fans on Twitter using them to participate in a Billboard Music Awards contest. To which, a fan wrote that he'd rather have her pay his tuition fees. Nicki Minaj, to everyone's surprise, took it seriously and offered to help if the user showed her good grades. She had written, " “Show me straight A’s that I can verify w/ur school and I’ll pay it.”

The tweet went viral and several students struggling to pay students loans approached her. Artavion Cook was one of those fans who asked Nicki Minaj to pay the remaining $1,300of his tuition fee. Minaj quickly agreed. Today Artavion Cook has completed his bachelor's in biology.

Cook in an interview said, " I tweeted mine and she saw it. She quoted it and said send me the info, I’ll pay it. About a week later, her assistant messaged me from her account and in the next few days, my balance was zero. It really meant a lot to me, especially to my mom." Artavion Cook now plans on getting enrolled in medical school for higher studies. He also shared his graduation certificate with mark sheet which showed straight A's in all subjects. Right after his tweet went viral netizens started pouring tweets praising Nicki Minaj for her deed.
