Rapper-singer Nicki Minaj recently welcomed her first child with husband Kenneth Petty. Reportedly, the 37-year-old singer gave birth in Los Angeles on September 30. The parents are yet to reveal the gender or name of their child.

Nicki Minaj Welcomes First Child
International rapping sensation Nicki Minaj announced her pregnancy back in July this year. Minaj posted a series of photographs on Instagram wherein the singer’s baby bump is clearly visible. One of the pictures, captioned as “#Preggers” features Minaj dressed in a bikini and cradling her growing belly:
Another picture shows a bikini-clad Minaj reclining on a sofa and is accompanied by the caption, “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.”
Minaj’s pregnancy announcement came a few months after she hinted dropped hints about "retirement" on social media. In September 2019, Minaj wrote on Twitter, "I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, (X) in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE."
However, a few weeks later, the singer clarified her career plans in an interview with Billboard, saying, “I love music and interacting with fans, so I can’t really see taking myself completely away. But I want to be open to other possibilities in my life. I do believe it is important to become a woman outside of the magnifying glass. I have to make sure that I’m well-rounded as a human being."

Fans Congratulate New Mother Nicki Minaj
Neither Minaj nor Petty, who is also a rapper, have made any kind of announcement regarding the birth of their first child. However, fans have congratulated Minaj on social media based on media reports of her child’s birth. One user extended good wishes to the singer in the comments section of her last Instagram post, dated August 2, by writing, “ I couldn’t be happier for you love … Your child is already so loved and we can’t wait to see you together … I love you.”
Another fan wished Minaj good health post the delivery of her first child: “Congratulations on your first child Nicki. I hope you have a safe and heathy postpartum…I miss you.”

Minaj tied the knot with Petty in October 2019 after dating for nearly a year. According to USA Today, Petty is a is a registered, level two sex offender in California. In August, TMZ reported that law authorities granted Kenneth Petty’s request to change his conditions and allowed him to attend the birth of his child with Minaj if it happens outside his curfew hours.
