In Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, a woman and her parents were allegedly killed by a man on Wednesday. The woman's younger sister is reportedly injured and has been admitted to a hospital in Lucknow.

According to reports, the police are making efforts to arrest the accused man who fled the scene after the alleged incident. The deceased woman has been identified as Shimpa who was 26-year-old and her 67-year-old father Devi Prasad and mother Parvati, 50. The family used to live in Imliya Gurdayal within the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station, as per reports. The accused man has been idenfied as Ashok Kumar. As per the police he wanted to marry Shimpa but her family had arranged her marriage with someone else.
Gonda Murder Case:
The accused man reportedly entered the family house around 6:30 pm and the locked the door from inside. The police have said that he was carrying a sharp-edged weapon and allegedly attacked the woman's father and mother first. He then hit Shimpa and her sister Sapna, as per reports. Devi Prasad's daughter-in-law Laxmi could enter the house from the terrace so the accused reportedly locked that door too. Laxmi then started calling for help. Some neighbours reportedly came rushing after hearing her cries, that is when the accused fled the scene. The neighbours called police to the crime scene and the injured persons were taken to the hospital. Devi Prasad, his wife and daighter Shimpa were pronounced brought dead. The younger sister reportedly sustained injuries and was referred to a hospital in Lucknow for treatment.
A Times of India report quoted the Gonda SP Santosh Mishra saying, "Devi Prasad’s daughter-in-law has said in her statement that the attacker Ashok Kumar wanted to marry Shimpa but her marriage was fixed elsewhere recently and he was enraged over this. He had been constantly calling Shimpa since morning and was requesting her to elope with him." The police have constituted five teams for apprehending the accused. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 has been announced for providing information on him.
