The video shows the man thrashing the teacher for allegedly punishing his child. The teacher had apparently forced the student to do sit-ups as punishment. The father got aggressive when the child informed him of the punishment.

Reports claim that the child was a student in class 5. His father claimed that the teacher had made the child do more than fifty sit-ups, which caused his legs to swell.

The school principal is also seen sitting along with the teacher when the man suddenly enters the room along with his friends and starts thrashing the teacher. After the situation seemed to escalate, some people were seen trying to intervene and stop the assault. Security personnel got involved and escorted the man out of the school premises.

Since being uploaded on X (formerly Twitter), the video has gathered several views. One user pointed out that sit-ups were good for health, adding that punishments like sit-ups, which are scarless and don’t cause injury, are “good for students." The user also urged parents to understand that otherwise, children will “become bad and will not study.”

Another user said that corporal punishment was a punishable offence. A third user stated that what the father did was wrong, and he shouldn’t have raised his hands on a teacher and instead should have asked the child why the teacher punished him.

While the reason that prompted the punishment isn’t revealed, using corporal punishment to “correct” children isn’t the best way. That being said, it’s completely unacceptable for a parent to beat a teacher because they are normalising toxic masculinity and violent behaviour. A formal complaint followed by a meeting with the teacher and principal could have resolved the issue.
