Rapper Talib Kweli's Wife DJ Eque Files For Divorce

DJ Eque, wife of popular American rapper Talib Kweli, has reportedly filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage with him. The couple has no minor children together.

As per reports, Cynthia Greene (as DJ Eque is originally named) has put in divorce papers at the Los Angeles Superior Court. The conditions of the divorce aren't yet clear.

DJ Eque is popular in the entertainment industry as a professional DJ, while Kweli is a hip-hop musician famous as one half of the 'Black Star' music duo.

DJ Eque and Talib Kweli's Relationship

DJ Eque and Kweli tied the knot in 2009. The wedding event, hosted in posh Bel-Air, was a high-profile one with big names like Queen Latifah in attendance. The couple was based in Los Angeles.

If pop myth (and reports) are to be believed, the two through their years of marriage shared a complex relationship. Reports from 2010 once suggested that they were kicked out of their own party for "unruly marital behaviour."

She reportedly saw her husband talking to a woman at a New York City club and engaged in a brawl with him over it.

While the couple hasn't yet confirmed the reason behind this reported divorce, social media speculation hints at an alleged affair between Kweli and adult star Sara Jay as the cause of the alleged rift.
