Valarivan, on the other hand, set a new record at National Shooting Selection Trials earlier this year. She shot a score of 253 at the finals of the National Shooting Selection Trials to claim the top honours in the women’s air rifle category on February 11. The 22-year-old Valarivan is the gold medallist in the 10m air rifle for women category in the World Cup and the World Cup finals in 2019.
The mixed team event is scheduled later this year at the Tokyo Olympics. This was India’s fourth gold medal at the ongoing World Cup.
