The deceased woman's father said that Jasveer told him that his daughter died after falling from the bed. When her father looked at the injuries on her face, he sought an investigation by the police. The autopsy report has confirmed that Megha Arya died due to strangulation by a cloth.

This chilling case of murder comes after the killing of a Kerala woman by her husband. The man was sentenced to double life imprisonment on Wednesday.
