On January 13, Delhi police registered a case on the complaint of an Indian-origin US citizen against her ex-colleague, who is the CEO of the former company she was working in. The woman alleges that the CEO allegedly raped her in a hotel room at a 5-star hotel last year.
According to the woman, she was working as an assistant general manager in the company, and the accused man was the CEO of the same firm, had a connection with one of her uncles, and helped the woman get a job in the company.

- Chanakyapuri Police Station in Delhi registered an FIR (First Information Report) on Saturday night against the CEO of a Delhi-based firm booking him under Section 376 (Repe) of the Indian Penal Code after a complaint was lodged by an NRI (Non-Residential Indian) woman against the man accusing him of alleged rape.
- On Sunday, police revealed that, according to the complainant, the incident took place on September 14, 2023, when she met the accused in a 5-star hotel in the Lutyens area of Chanakyapuri, Delhi, where she claims the CEO of her former company had allegedly raped her.
- The Indian-origin US citizen, as per the FIR, was working as an assistant general manager of a private Delhi-based firm and was the former colleague of the accused, who was serving as the CEO of the company.
- Additional DCP off New Delhi, Ravi Kant Kumar said, the woman revealed that the accused man was a friend of her uncle who helped her get this job in his company and hence knew each other previously.
- A senior police officer said the investigation in the case is underway and legal action would be taken as per the available evidence in the case after a thorough probe.
