DCW Chief Swati Maliwal Writes To DGCA Over Sexual Harassment

Amid a rise in cases of incidents reported on flights, DCW chief Swati Maliwal recommended a set of revised Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines to protect women from sexual harassment.

In the letter, Maliwal cited the case of Shankar Mishra, who is accused of urinating on a woman and another case of a male passenger allegedly urinating on a woman's blanket on a flight.

Since both accused were intoxicated at the time of the incident, Maliwal requested DGCA for a system to monitor intoxicated people and prevent them from boarding the flight.

Train Ticket Checker's Dispute With Woman Passenger Goes Viral

A video of a railway official's dispute with a woman passenger has gone viral on social media. The person who posted the video took to Twitter and claimed that the ticket checker was drunk and manhandled her.

The ticket checker asked her to show a ticket, which the woman did, however according to the eyewitness the ticket checker did not listen to her and misbehaved with her.

The woman could be heard asking, "I have booked the ticket that is why I came here, why are you bullying me?"

CJI DY Chandrachud Says There Must Be Zero Tolerance For Inappropriate Behaviour Toward Women

During an event organised by the Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee of the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud spoke about issues faced by women in the profession.

He added that he heard "ghastly" stories involving women lawyers who had to deal with harassment and inappropriate behaviour.

Rapido Rider Sends Inappropriate Messages To Woman

A Rapido driving partner sent inappropriate messages to a woman and told her that he only came for the pick-up after seeing her display picture and hearing her voice. The driver added that the location was very far and he wouldn't have come for the pick-up if he hadn't seen her display picture.

He ended the texts by writing that he was not her Bhaiya (brother).
