It is shocking and horrifying to see that the outrage after Kathua and Unnao rape case has done nothing to predators in the country. Kawardha Police in Chattisgarh has arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly raping and bludgeoning an 11 year old girl with bricks until she died. Identified as Uttam Sahu, the man was attending his friend’s wedding in Podhi village of Chhattisgarh late on Wednesday night where the minor girl had also come.
An investigator said that Sahu enticed the girl away from the crowd in the wedding with the promise of getting her a soft drink. He then raped her and beat her up with bricks until she died. Sahu did not even bother to hide her body and re-joined the wedding as if nothing had happened. Over there he partied in bloodied clothes as he did not realize that bloodstains had come on to his shirt, Kawardha SP Lal Umed Singh said, TOI reported.
"He left her body with hardly any clothes on and returned to the wedding. He had no clue that he had bloodstains on his shirt,"
People present at the wedding told the police that Sahu had been eyeing her all evening. As a few guests started to leave, he offered to get her cold drink and took her to a dark and deserted spot near a rivulet, about 1.5 km away, where he raped her, say police. After he raped her, he took one of the bricks from a stack nearby and bludgeoned her to death.

"He left her body with hardly any clothes on and returned to the wedding. He had no clue that he had bloodstains on his shirt," said the SP.
When the girl’s parents did not find her, they started looking for her and that’s when some people informed them that they had last seen her with Sahu. Some people even went up to Sahu to question him when they saw bloodstains on him. They then caught him and called the police.
Police found the girl’s body on Thursday morning and arrested Sahu under Indian Penal Code and POCSO for rape and murder.
