Bhushan Kumar Rape Case: T-Series Denies Charges, Accuses Complainant Of Extortion

Bhushan Kumar Rape Case: The T-series head is accused of rape by a 30-year-old model. The company has given their statement, wherein they called the allegations to be false.

According to the Police complaint, the model said that Kumar had promised her work if she agreed to be in a relationship with him. She accused him of raping her several times between 2017 and 2020 in a case registered at the DN Nagar police station in Andheri (West). He is facing charges of cheating and criminal intimidation.

As per the latest update in the case, a complaint was filed against the survivor's friend on Friday for allegedly trying to extort money from Bhushan Kumar's family.

The model alleged that Bhushan Kumar raped her at three different places and threatened her with dire consequences if she dared to tell anyone about what happened. She registered First Information Report (FIR) against him. The police are yet to record Bhushan Kumar's statement in the case.

T-Series said that the woman had requested financial help from the company head Bhushan Kumar for producing a web series. This request of her's was "was politely refused".

T-Series further said in its statement, "Thereafter, in June 2021 after the lifting of lockdown in Maharashtra, she started approaching T-Series banner in collusion with her accomplice demanding huge sum of money as extortion amount. Consequently, a complaint was filled by T-Series banner against the attempted extortion with Amboli police station on July 1, 2021."

The company also said that they have evidence in form of an audio recording for the extortion attempt. T-series added, "The present complaint filed by her is nothing but a counterblast to the complaint filed against her and her accomplice for the offence of extortion."

T-Series was founded by Kumar's father Gulshan Kumar who was shot dead in 1997 in Mumbai's Andheri. Gulshan Kumar was popularly known as "Cassette King". Bhushan Kumar was also accused of sexual harassment by an anonymous Twitter user during the #MeToo movement in 2018.
