Congress party Member of Parliament Jothimani said on Twitter that today, January 9, would be an all-women walk in Bharat Jodo Yatra.

She added that Rahul Gandhi was “very passionate” and “committed on women empowerment”.

Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Haryana’s Kurukshetra on January 8. A similar occasion was witnessed in December when Congress MP Gandhi celebrated Mahila Sashaktikaran Diwas by continuing the Bharat Jodo Yatra with women.

Odisha police paid tribute to its first and India’s third lady Sub-Inspector Vijaya Laxmi Devi on January 8, the 61st anniversary of her joining the state police force.

To encourage girls to join the police force, a portrait of Vijaya Laxmi Devi has been hung on the wall of the Police training centre.

Manpreet Monica Singh, First Female Sikh Judge In US

Indian-origin Manpreet Monica Singh has been sworn in as a Harris county judge, making her the first female Sikh judge in the United States.

Her father immigrated to the US in the early 1970s and she was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She now lives in Bellaire with her husband and two children.

Priyank Chopra Hosts Screening Of Chhello Show

Actor and producer Priyanka Chopra recently hosted a special screening of the Oscar-shortlisted film Chello Show in Los Angeles.

Director Pan Nalin and child actor Bhavin Rabari also attended the screening.

Chopra shared a few pictures from the screening and wrote, “The least I can do is support the industry that taught me all I know about the job. So proud of the amazing movies that come out of Indian cinema.”

US Woman Gives Birth To Twins Girls Born In Different Years

A United States woman gave birth to two twin girls whose birthdays fall a year apart.

Kali Jo Flewellen from Texas and her partner Cliff named their baby girls Annie Jo and Effie Rose Scott.

Flewellen shared on Facebook that “Annie was the last baby born in 2022 at 11:55 pm. Then, Effie was the very first born in 2023 at 12:01!”
