The container truck, which was coming from Uttar Pradesh, was seized by the police. However, the driver fled after the accident. SI Rabha was serving as in-charge of the Morikolong police outpost.

Rabha’s family demanded an investigation into the accident as they suspected foul play. The DGP of Assam, GP Singh, informed the public that the case has been transferred to the CID through a tweet.

Junmoni Rabha came under the spotlight after her phone conversation with BJP MLA Amiya Kumar Bhuyan was leaked in January 2022. In the leaked audio, the duo seemed to be engaged in a heated conversation over the arrest of several boatmen who were operating country boats with illegally fitted machines and were allegedly involved in harassing people in Bhuyan’s constituency.

Earlier, Ranha was arrested for alleged corruption along with her former beau. The duo were sent to judicial custody, leading to Rabha’s suspension from service. Later, her suspension order was revoked, and Rabha returned to service.
