The actor on Sunday raised a toast to her dad, Colonel (retired) Ajay Kumar Sharma, and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, saying they were the "best father's a daughter can have.

"Filled with bountiful of love and grace ...❤️👨‍👧#happyfathersday," the 33-year-old actor wrote in a post featuring a series of pictures - one with her parent, one with her husband, and a third of Col Sharma and Kohli together.

Sharma and Kohli became parents to a daughter, Vamika, earlier this year on January 11. Kohli, captain of the Indian cricket team who flew down to India after one test match of the Australia tour to welcome his child, has called fatherhood a "life changing experience."

Anushka Sharma Father's Day Post: A Look At The Dad-Daughter Relationship

Col Sharma, who turned 60 in March this year, and his daughter share a close bond. On his birthday, Sharma gushed about all that she was grateful to him for: "Growing up he taught us the power of honesty, compassion, acceptance and righteousness. And always stressed upon the peace of mind that follows by being honest and hassle free."

She shared a string of photos from her father's youth and her own childhood, upto moments of her father and Vamika together.

Sharma has said she owes a lot, including her being, to the Indian Army growing up in and adapting to dynamic, ever-changing environments through her father's service as an officer. A Kargil War veteran, his posting to remote areas in India added to Sharma's "personal growth" as a defence ward, she said on Army Day in 2017, as per Hindustan Times.

"Parents from defence background have a more liberated set of values which adds to the inherent confidence and self-belief their children display."
