Fresh 6.4 magnitude earthquake hits Turkey weeks after deadly tremors

Another earthquake struck the border region of Turkey and Syria on Monday, just two weeks after the area was devastated by a quake that killed more than 47,000 people and damaged thousands of homes.

Monday's quake, this time with a magnitude of 6.4, was centred near the southern Turkish city of Antakya and was felt in Syria, Egypt and Lebanon.

The United States is "deeply concerned" over the two fresh earthquakes that jolted southern Turkey, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that they are ready to "extend full support."

Assam woman kills husband, mother-in-law: Cops

A woman allegedly killed her husband and mother-in-law, chopped up their bodies and kept them inside a fridge in Assam's Noonmati, a neighbourhood in Guwahati. The police said that three days after killing her husband Amarjyoti Dey and mother-in-law Shankari Dey, Vandana and her lover took the body parts to Meghalaya's Cherrapunji, some 150 km from Guwahati.

Telangana groom calls off wedding over "old furniture" in dowry

A Telangana man called off his marriage in Hyderabad after he reportedly found that "old" furniture was given by the bride's family as dowry, police said on Monday. The police further added that a case under relevant sections of the IPC and Dowry Prohibition Act was registered and further investigations were underway.

The groom, who works as a bus driver, did not turn up for the wedding, which was scheduled on Sunday, following which a complaint was lodged by the bride's father with the police and a case was registered.

Singer Sonu Nigam manhandled during a concert in Mumbai

Singer Sonu Nigam and his team were allegedly manhandled at a music event in Mumbai’s Chembur on Monday night. Nigam and his team left the spot soon after the incident and filed a complaint regarding the same at the Chembur police station.

A case has been filed for wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt, police said.
